Ginger (Zingiber officinale) has been widely used among many cultures for centuries for its medicinal properties and as a common ingredient in cuisine.  Ginger is commonly produced in India, Indonesia, Australia, Jamaica and Fiji. The root of the ginger plant can be consumed fresh, powdered, dried as a spice, in oil form or as juice.

Ginger has is also an excellent source of: Thiamine (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacin (B3), Pantothenic acid (B5), Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin C, Vitamin E as well as Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Phosphorus, Potassium, Sodium and Zinc.
