The spring sunshine means that summer is right around the corner. We know you’re exercising, eating healthy, and employing many other healthy lifestyle habits to look and feel your best. But sometimes you need that little extra boost to rev your metabolism, shed a few extra pounds, and give your toned muscles the debut they deserve. That’s when you can call on Zokiva’s Skinny Teas!

It seems too simple that tea can help you feel more confident in your shorts, tank tops, swimsuits and sundresses but, when combined with a wholesome diet and exercise, it may be just that easy. We’re not saying there’s a magic weight-loss solution, but there are certainly superfoods that help prime your body for your ideal body image.

Our Skinny Teas are nutritious superfood teas of the purest quality blended with delicious flavors to keep you enjoying your drink from first sip to last. These ancient traditional teas include green tea, rooibos tea, and oolong tea. Each has its own set of phenomenal health benefits and support your goals to get ready for summer.

How Do Skinny Teas Support Weight Management?

Skinny Teas work to support weight management in several ways. First, each has a wealth of antioxidants that tend to elevate metabolic rates including the way the body deals with fat storage and blood glucose levels. One study showed that drinking just 2.5 cups of Green Tea per day aids in weight loss, likely thanks to its flavonoid content. Similarly, experts believe polyphenols called catechins are responsible for great weight loss and weight management benefits in Oolong Tea. And Rooibos Tea contains the bioflavonoid aspalathin that suppresses stress hormones that signal hunger and fat storage, among other things.

Green Tea and Oolong Tea both contain caffeine, which is a known metabolism booster. This natural source of caffeine doesn’t leave you feeling jittery, but rather energized and motivated. Even without caffeine, Rooibos Tea is believed to interrupt production of new fat cells.

All three teas contain no fat or carbohydrates, making them a much better alternative to sugary drinks you may consume throughout the day. Plus, unlike coffee, there is no need to add any calorie-laden sweeteners into our Skinny Teas. That’s because their inherent flavor combined with our natural flavor enhancers make them truly scrumptious with no additives necessary.

Go Green with Green Tea

At Zokiva, we feel pretty lucky to have a wealth of superfoods to keep our bodies healthy and strong.  But when it comes to your health, it’s wise to be proactive and not leave it to chance.  This month of luck and all things green, we’re taking a look at some of our favorite green superfoods supplements and teas.  In a way, these treasures from nature are almost like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

Our first lucky green superfood for the month of March is Green Tea.  This well-known antioxidant-rich tea from Asia is not fermented and therefore retains its nutrient content.  And what amazing nutrients they are.  Green Tea contains an abundance of antioxidants including polyphenols, catechins and flavonoids, which help stave off sickness and disease.  Antioxidants are highly regarded as the nutrients that scavenge and combat free radical oxidative stress on cells throughout the body.  Consuming a diet rich in antioxidants, especially the supercharged antioxidants found in Green Tea, helps reduce risk of serious diseases caused by cellular mutations.  Green Tea itself is considered a helpful preventative superfood for many life-threatening diseases.

Polyphenols like those in Green Tea are also wonderful for the heart.  The American Medical Association links Green Tea with lower death rates due to its cardio-protective properties.  Studies indicate that regular consumption of Green Tea proves to reduce bad LDL cholesterol levels and lowers blood pressure levels within a normal range.  Moreover, it helps prevent blood clots and plaque build-up in arteries, which cause heart attacks and strokes.  And, Green Tea strengthens the lining of arteries, which is important for normal blood flow throughout a lifetime.

Green Tea is often hailed as a weight loss superfood for several reasons.  First, it helps rev the metabolism to burn through consumed fat and calories quicker and more efficiently on a regular basis.  Plus, it helps chip away at stored fat too.  Also, Green Tea is naturally caffeinated for extra energy without the jitters, which can support a more active lifestyle.  And it has virtually no calories and zero fat, making it a healthy alternative to energy drinks and juices that pack in the sugar.

Medical experts recommend Green Tea as a supplement to manage the symptoms of diabetes because it is known to stabilize blood sugar levels within a normal range.  Drinking Green Tea with a meal can lower the glucose impact and reduce diabetic blood sugar spikes.  This also aids in weight loss because sugar is metabolized properly and not as likely to be stored as fat.

As if all of these health benefits of Green Tea aren’t lucky enough, Green Tea is a phenomenal age-defying health routine as well.  Drinking Green Tea regularly reduces the effects of aging internally and externally.  Internally, the tremendous nutrients in Green Tea support organs, tissues and cells so they operate efficiently and are less stressed.  Green Tea shows its benefits externally on skin, hair and nails by offering a more radiant, youthful appearance.  Antioxidants help maintain cellular integrity, shape and health, which reduces the signs of aging inside and out.

This March, go green with Green Tea and all of our green superfood treasures from nature!

What is Green Tea

Green Tea is widely considered by nutritionists one of the healthiest drinks on Earth.  It is chock full of supercharged antioxidants that boost the immune system, reduce risk of many diseases, support healthier blood flow and heart function, and may contribute to weight loss, among other health benefits.  With less caffeine than coffee and black tea, and far fewer calories and artificial ingredients than soda, Green Tea is an excellent drink alternative for a healthy lifestyle.

Similar to White tea, Black tea and Oolong tea, Green Tea comes from the Camellia sinensis bush.  But unlike the others, Green Tea is made from the un-oxidized dried leaves of the plant.  This helps lock in a superior antioxidant content.  The most potent antioxidants found in Green Tea are polyphenols, especially catechins like Epigallocatechin-3-gallate or EGCG for short.  All antioxidants help protect and defend cells from free radicals that can damage and mutate cellular DNA.  But polyphenols like EGCG are even more effective at preventing the harmful effects of free radicals.  Of the antioxidants found in Green Tea, over half are these powerful catechins.  This makes Green Tea an incredible disease-preventative beverage.

Beyond preventing diseases caused by cellular mutations, Green Tea supports healthy blood flow and heart function.  Catechins are known to lower harmful cholesterol levels and blood pressure, both of which help blood flow smoothly throughout the body.  As blood flows to-and-from the heart properly, the risk of heart disease, heart attack, stroke and congestive heart failure is reduced, along with other negative side effects of high cholesterol and high blood pressure.  Moreover, blood flowing to the brain helps improve cognition, clarity, memory and alertness.

Of course, better blood flow also supports a more active body too.  By sending oxygen and nutrients throughout the body, energy increases.  With more energy comes motivation, stamina and endurance for physical activity and exercise.  Therefore, Green Tea is often recommended for weight loss.  Although it is not a “magic potion” for losing weight, it can boost the energy required for a healthier lifestyle that leads to weight loss, especially when Green Tea replaces more sugary drinks.  Some evidence also indicates that Green Tea can help manage symptoms of diabetes and reduce the risk of the disease.

Catechins found in Green Tea are responsible for a host of other wonderful health benefits too.  EGCG has shown to relieve pollen allergies by blocking the receptors that cause allergic reactions.  Catechins and other antioxidants found in Green Tea support oral health by improving the quality of teeth and gums, as well as bolstering eye tissue for better eyesight.  Finally, Green Tea has sun-protective qualities as catechins help prevent UV rays from damaging skin cells.

Nutritionist and doctor-approved Green Tea is great for your entire body.  From your brain to your heart to your energy level, Zokiva is ready to help you improve your whole body with our Skinny Citrus and Skinny Mango Green Tea varieties.  We know you’ll love these naturally sweet and tangy flavors while you reap the incredible benefits of delicious Green Tea.

Drink Your Way to Weight Loss, The Natural Way

With all of the weight loss products on the market, it’s hard to know which ones really work and which ones won’t have harmful effects on your body. If you are confused, you’re not alone. It’s always wise to consult your physician when starting a weight loss regimen, but also remember that natural choices are most often the cleanest and most effective way to achieve your goals.

Most physicians would not recommend crash diets or artificial weight loss pills that claim to help you lose lots of weight fast. These seemingly magical solutions can actually hurt your body by depriving you of nutrients your organs needs to survive and thrive. Plus, many chemically generated diet pills are infused with dangerous ingredients that have negative side effects including headaches, heart palpitations, jitters, insomnia and more serious conditions such as heart conditions, stroke or renal failure. Diet pills are not regulated because they are not considered drugs.

At Zokiva, we have an all-natural alternative that supports weight management the healthy way: our delicious weight loss teas. Zokiva teas are made with only the finest ingredients and are designed to stimulate your metabolism and your taste buds alike.

Oolong Tea is an ancient Chinese health and weight management secret that you can now add to your weight loss arsenal. Oolong tea boosts the metabolic rate, helping us burn through calories and fat faster, even while at rest. Plus, Oolong tea has a healthy caffeine content, which is proven to increase energy and speed up the metabolism. But unlike some other caffeine-laced diet “solutions,” oolong tea contains L-theanine to neutralize the negative effects of caffeine. Zokiva offers this tea in two yummy fruit flavors: Skinny Peach and Skinny Grapefruit.

Roobios Tea from Africa is one of the most antioxidant-dense teas available. Not only does this make roobios tea burst with energy and provide amazing nutrients for your entire body, but it also helps combat cancer-causing free radicals that enter our bodies through poor diet and lifestyle choices. Roobios tea is naturally sweet, making it unnecessary to add any cream or sugar to enjoy. That saves lots of calories! And with choices like Skinny Vanilla and Skinny Caramel, the flavor is already in the (tea) bag.

Green Tea is one of the hottest weight management resources right now. In addition to a containing host of health benefits, research indicates that green tea extract is an amazing metabolic booster. Green tea can help the body burn stored fat and therefore decrease body mass. This natural benefit of green tea may come from its high levels of catechins, an antioxidant that has phenomenal disease-fighting properties. Zokiva green tea comes in Skinny Citrus and Skinny Mango flavors for your enjoyment.

Black Tea offers many of the same excellent health benefits as green tea. The difference is that black tea has a different fermentation process and is more oxidized, resulting in a more caffeinated and richly flavored beverage. Because it tastes delicious without any milk or sweeteners, this tea is an excellent way to reduce calories and can be enjoyed as a replacement for other sugary drinks. Plus, the nutrients and caffeine will keep your energy up and your metabolism burning throughout the day. Zokiva offers black tea in three scrumptious flavors: Earl Gray, Pumpkin Spice and Raspberry Rush.

Moringa Tea helps you reach your weight management goals in a variety of ways. First, it is packed with over 90 essential nutrients that keep the body thriving and energized. This not only revs the metabolism to burn calories, but it also keeps us satiated with good nutrition so we aren’t subjected to empty-calorie cravings. Lastly, but not least of all, Moringa Tea gives us the energy we need to be active.

Finding a weight management solution that works is different for every individual. At Zokiva, we offer a variety of energy tea and weight loss tea options for every body and every taste bud. Whatever your preference, remember, the all-natural way is always best!
