The latest and greatest additions to our pantry are Graviola Tea blends, now available in both Graviola Peppermint Tea and Graviola Hibiscus Tea. We’re thrilled to bring you these new superfood combinations that are known to boost your immune system, support digestion, calm your nervous system, and aid your body’s natural cleansing processes. And the best part for you is that they are exploding with delicious flavors.

The Benefits of Graviola Tea

As one of the best immune-boosting superfoods, it’s no surprise Graviola Tea is jam-packed with antioxidants. It has a high concentration of the popular immune-strengthening antioxidant Vitamin C, along with many others. Graviola Tea is also rich in B Vitamins that are essential for nearly every bodily function. In fact, Graviola Tea is so concentrated with nutrients, it is among an elite group of superfoods that is known to elevate your immune system and entire body to greater potential health.

While your immune system helps prevent illness, combats free radicals, and works to reverse cellular damage, bolstering other areas of your body can also contribute to improved health and wellness that counteracts sickness and disease. And you better believe Graviola can lend a hand throughout your body.

Thanks to antiviral, antibacterial and other antimicrobial properties, Graviola Tea helps purify the body. It supports natural cleansing that keeps your body operating at its optimal level. As we age, our bodies are burdened with lingering swelling and residue of foreign substances that can slow our systems and eventually lead to disease. Antioxidant and antimicrobial food like Graviola Tea keep the body flushed so it isn’t constantly labored with this build-up.

With a healthy dose of fiber, Graviola Tea is especially helpful at easing digestion for regular bowel movements. Fiber also helps reduce risk of diabetes because it slows digestion and decreases the impact of glucose in the bloodstream.

Additionally, Graviola Tea is known to calm the body. It is sometimes used as a natural supplement for anxiety and depression. Its slight sedative effect can relax the body for an overall less stressed state.

A Burst of Flavor

While our Graviola Tea is a powerful health resource, we know sometimes you need a little flavor jolt. That’s why we crafted our new Graviola Peppermint Tea and Graviola Hibiscus Tea. These minty and tangy flavors offer a subtle essence that enhances the energy-boosting qualities of Graviola Tea.

We urge you to mix up your tea habit and incorporate these delicious new flavors in your diet. Enjoy and cheers to your health, wellness and vitality!

What is Graviola + How to take Graviola

What is Graviola

Graviola is a nutrient-dense, bioavailable superfood.  It is part of the annonaceae species of trees found in South and Central America, the Caribbean and tropical forests in Asia.  The bark, leaves, seeds and fruit of the tree each offer nutritional benefits.  Graviola is often called Soursop, Guanaba or Brazilian Paw Paw.

Graviola is tremendously rich in vitamin C and several important B vitamins.  Perhaps most importantly, Graviola contains a unique set of phyto-chemical antioxidants called annonanceous acetogenins, which are only found among its family of plants.  These antioxidants are responsible for phenomenal health benefits including energizing the body, slowing the aging process, speeding the metabolism to help maintain a healthy weight, fighting off infection and disease by supporting the immune system, reducing swelling throughout the body and calming the body for easier digestion and better emotional balance.

How to take Graviola

Graviola can be easily integrated into your healthy diet with Zokiva’s Graviola Tea and Graviola Powder.  Both offer the incredible benefits of this rich and powerful superfood.

How to take Graviola Tea:  Make Graviola Tea your new go-to herbal tea.  Bursting with antioxidants, it will give you natural energy throughout your day and start working Mother Nature’s magic inside your body.  Tea preparations of Graviola are specifically known to help reduce internal and external swelling.  Add a tea bag to a hot cup of water and let steep for 5 to 10 minutes.  Drink two to three cups of Graviola tea daily for maximum results.  Add honey, agave, lemon or other natural sweeteners to taste.

How to take Graviola Powder:  Graviola Powder can be added to many of your favorite beverages to enhance the nutritional value and supply your daily dose of antioxidants.  Try ¼ to ½ of a teaspoon of Graviola Powder in a smoothie, juice or tea, or blend it into yogurt, cottage cheese or cold dips.  Be sure to gradually add Graviola to your diet to gage your individual reaction and ideal dosage.

As with all dietary superfood supplements, Graviola Tea and Graviola Powder will be most useful when combined with a well-balanced diet and regular exercise.  Start your regimen of Zokiva’s Graviola products for your best health today, tomorrow and every day in the future.

What is Graviola?

Evergreen and ever-healthy, the Graviola tree produces fruits, seeds, leaves and stems that are an amazing source of nutrients.  When consumed as a sweet fruit or ground into powder, Graviola can help fight bacterial or parasitic infections, improve the digestive track, reduce fever, improve skin, relieve arthritis pain and lower blood pressure.  It’s even showing promise for it’s anti-tumor and anti-cancer properties.  This green giant of a plant may look small, but it is mighty in nutrition that supports and sustains health.

Found in the tropics of South America, Graviola or Soursop, has many documented medicinal and herbal uses.  Natives in the tropical rainforests of Peru, Brazil and the entire Amazon and Caribbean regions use Graviola for a variety of ailments.  For starters, Graviola contains excellent nutrition for whole body health.  It’s a rich source of many important vitamins, including Vitamin C and the B-complex Vitamins. Vitamin C is one of the best antioxidants and supports a healthy immune system, among other bodily functions.  The B-complex vitamins help with the metabolic process and give the body sustainable energy throughout the day.  Also, unlike many other fruits, Graviola has a high essential mineral potency, especially magnesium, iron, phosphorus and potassium, which helps muscles, bones, circulation and the entire nervous system.

Perhaps the most encouraging news about Graviola is the growing attention it’s getting as a disease-fighting agent.  In preliminary studies, it acts as an antiviral, antiparasitic and antirheumatic. Graviola has proven to be helpful in the treatment and prevention of the herpes simplex virus and eliminating the parasite lice.  It’s also showing incredible results at combating cancer and tumor cells, due to its content of the phyto-chemical fatty acid known as annonaceous acetogenins, which may inhibit oxidation of cancer cells.  In one study published in the journal “Cancer Letters,” Graviola stopped tumor cells from growing and eliminated them altogether.  Much more research is being done to determine the uses of Graviola to prevent and eradicate cancer.

Graviola may help relieve seasonal symptoms around this time of year too.  It may offer relief for colds, the flu or nasal congestion.  Graviola is known to loosening mucus and soothe inflamed nasal cavities, as well as reduce fever.  It can also help ease coughs or asthma, and may help achy bodies or those suffering from arthritis.  And this time of year, a boost to the metabolism can’t hurt either.  Graviola contains a more fiber than an apple or bowl of brain flakes, which can help rev the metabolism and keep the body satisfied longer to aid in weight control.

Graviola has a sedative effect, which makes it very useful for several common health conditions.  As a calming agent, it helps stabilize mood, reducing anxiety and stress that can take a toll on a person’s mental and physical state.  Along these lines, high blood pressure can be a result of too much stress on the body, but Graviola may help reduce blood pressure within a normal range. Similarly, Graviola can be used to settle bowels by relaxing the gastrointestinal system to ease discomfort and correct the digestive track.

Graviola or Soursop is easy to take!  Add Graviola Leaf Powder to your morning smoothie, fruit juice or yogurt.  The sweet, slightly acidic taste will give a punch of flavor to your favorite drinks and snacks!

Graviola Leaf Powder for Better Sleep

Getting your zzz’s is an important part of every day – or every night – health and wellness.  For some, sleep comes easily and we are in dreamland in no time.  But many people do not get the 7-9 hours of sleep recommended for most adults.  Whether you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep throughout the night, Graviola Leaf Powder, also known as Soursop, is a phenomenal sleep aid.

Although some people can fall asleep at any time, any where, for most of us, sleep requires relaxation and usually a somewhat quiet, somewhat dark, comfortable spot.  For quietness, darkness and a snuggly sleep zone, you’re on your own.  But for relaxation, Graviola Leaf Powder is here to help.

Relaxation means different things to different people.  Generally we feel relaxed when our mind is able to slow from the rush of daily thoughts and our body is calm.  This is when we are most receptive to sleep.  Graviola Leaf Powder has a mild sedative affect that can prepare the body for rest without causing loss of lucidity or grogginess as in many chemical sleep aids.

Graviola can also stimulate the brain’s reception of serotonin, a chemical released by the body that acts as a neurotransmitter.  Serotonin levels can be a mood indicator and lack of it is linked to depression. When serotonin is high, it can elevate your mood and act as an antidepressant and anti-anxiety solution.  By naturally making the body more amenable to serotonin, Graviola triggers this calming effect.  As they say, Soursop to cure sour moods!

Sleep and high blood pressure are interrelated.  Graviola Leaf Powder or Graviola tea can be hypotensive, which means a natural way to reduce high blood pressure.  When blood pressure is elevated, the body is working harder and is more alert, two disadvantages when you’re trying to get some sleep.  Graviola assists your cardiovascular system in settling to allow for a long restorative period.  On the flip side, when you do not get enough sleep, you may activate stress-reactions including cortisol and adrenaline.  Prolonged exposure at night can create chronic high blood pressure, not to mention more difficulty getting to sleep.  It’s a vicious cycle.

Additionally, Graviola leaves can be antispasmodic.  This means that they can medicinally calm your digestive system by relaxing the muscles in your gut.  While you may not realize your digestive track is working overtime, it may be part of what is keeping you up at night, especially if you have eaten a big or particularly spicy meal before bedtime.  Graviola is also a natural pain-reliever that can reduce swelling.  It can be helpful in reducing soreness or pain that becomes more noticeable as you are still and try to wind down your day.

Next time you’re having trouble getting to sleep, try a regimen of Graviola Leaf Powder.  We find it to be pretty dreamy…and dream-inducing too.

Graviola Leaf Powder Tea: An Herbal Boost for your Whole Body

In the past few months we’ve discussed some of the amazing benefits of the tropical Graviola fruit.  With powerful antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates, Graviola or Soursop is a superfruit known to strengthen the immune system, support healthy cell formation and help protect the body from harmful bacteria and free radicals.  One of the best and most effective ways to get the benefits of the Graviola fruit is through Graviola Leaf Powder Tea, also known as Soursop Tea.

Graviola has a particularly potent blend of nutrients that make it so beneficial and healthful.  If you recall from Nutrition 101, our bodies use carbohydrates for energy.  Like many fruits, Graviola is especially high in fructose, the natural fruit sugar.  Additionally, Graviola is rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin B1 and Vitamin B2.  Vitamin C is an incredible immune boosting antioxidant that plays a part in almost every part of the human body.  Vitamin B1 (thiamine) and Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) help us burn fat and sugar for energy, produce hormones and repair DNA.  These essential vitamins are especially important for the brain, helping improve mood, retaining memory, reducing anxiety and depression and even lowering risk of migraines.

While much research is still being done on the benefits of Graviola, it’s being studied for its potential to help treat several common and life-threatening diseases.  As an alternative medicine, Graviola has shown promising signs of reducing blood sugar levels in those suffering from diabetes, as an anti-viral for people with herpes and as a supplemental treatment for diseases caused by inflammation, including Parkinson’s, asthma, osteoporosis and cancer .  Some initial studies show Graviola has been able to attack cancerous cells that are multi-drug resistant.  Many additional studies must be done, including human trials, before the results will be conclusive.  But these are all very positive signs for an already nutritious herbal superfood.

So why wouldn’t you want to drink up these nutrients?  Graviola Leaf Powder Tea or Soursop Tea is easy to make.  You can drink it plain or add a variety of flavors to spice it up.  Simply soak 1 tablespoon of Graviloa Leaf Powder in hot water for about 10 minutes.  Then strain the powder and enjoy your tea.  Add fruit flavors like freshly squeezed lemon, grapefruit or peach to give your tea a tangy flavor.  Try it with almond milk and cinnamon for a more indulgent pallet.

Graviola is one of the most nutritious superfoods on our planet.  While you may not live in the tropics, Zokiva makes Graviola Leaf Powder or Soursop Powder accessible to everyone in its purest form.  And now you can drink in its energy-bursting, immune-boosting, relaxing goodness by making your own Graviola Leaf Powder Tea.  Enjoy!X

Graviola Benefits: Gaviola Powder for High Blood Pressure

Graviola Leaf Powder, sometimes known as soursop, has a whole host of amazing benefits, but today we’re going to focus on how this powerful superfood can help those with high blood pressure manage their levels.

First, let’s take a look at exactly what is considered high blood pressure and how you’ll know if you have it, or if you’re at risk for developing it. The good news is that testing your blood pressure is quick, easy and painless. Administered in your doctor’s office by applying a cuff while the nurse pumps away, the simple test can tell you and your health care professionals a lot.

Not sure what it means when the nurse, doc or PA tells you you’re under 120/80, at 130/81 or above 140/90? According to the American Heart Association, those readings are normal, pre-hypertensive – which is an indicative of risk of developing hypertension – and stage one high blood pressure, respectively. The top number is the systolic reading, measuring the pressure in the arteries when the heart beats. The bottom, lower number measures pressure in the arteries between heartbeats.

Don’t sweat it next time you go in for a checkup, however. One high reading does not definitively mean that you have or will develop high blood pressure. That being said, if your readings stay high, your doctor may suggest you to modify your lifestyle in order to help those numbers go down.

High blood pressure, or hypertension, is caused by a number of factors, ranging from smoking to obesity, and lack of physical activity to stress. High blood pressure can be dangerous because it makes the heart work harder to pump blood to the body and contributes to hardening of the arteries, or atherosclerosis, and to the development of heart failure.

In addition to adopting a healthier diet – one that limits your caloric, fat, sodium and alcohol intake – quitting smoking, upping your physical activity and managing stress, adding Graviola Leaf Extract Powder can help maintain blood pressure levels within a normal range.  Graviola Extract comes from the Gaviola tree and contains a phenomenal amount of vitamins C,B1andB2.  These important vitamins are known to help relieve stress, in addition to possessing anti-inflammatory properties which can soothe sore muscles and shorten healing time between workouts.  Graviola is also known to help boost the immune system, making for an overall healthier you!

Wondering where to buy Graviola or where to buy soursop? Right here at Zokiva, of course!  Stay tuned on our blog where we’ll be sharing more incredible Graviola Leaf Powder and soursop benefits!
